Vivian L. Thigpen Lake City

Mrs. Vivian L. Thigpen, age 77, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 after an illness. Funeral services will be 11am, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in Old Piney Grove Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be tonight (Wednesday) from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Bob G. Fitch and Juanita McKenzie Fitch. Mrs. Thigpen received her Associates Degree in Arts, was a retired teacher’s assistant from Cades Hebron Elementary School where she worked for 20 years and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Thigpen. Two sisters, Brenda Daniels and Frances Lane.

Surviving are two daughters, Renee Halstead of Lake City and Teresa Gray of Scranton. A son, Dale Thigpen of Lake City. Two sisters, Marilyn Wilson of Columbia and Shirley Fitch of Lake City. Five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
