Betty Jean Floyd New Zion

Mrs. Betty Jean Floyd, age 75, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at her residence after an illness. Funeral services will be 3pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm tonight (Tuesday) at the church.

Born in Lake City, she was a daughter of the late Simon Matthews and Maude Lee Matthews. Mrs. Floyd was retired from Skyline Manufacturing Company and was a member of Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrion E. Floyd, and two brothers, Jerry Matthews and LeGrand Matthews.

Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis A. Baker (Timothy) of New Zion. A sister, Mary Ethel Barrineau of Turbeville. Two grandsons, Nathan R. Baker and Noah M. Baker both of New Zion. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Mayes DuBose, Adeline Tisdale, Sandy Miles, and Herlonda Washington. The family would also like to thank two special caregivers, Brenda Hickman and Leila Cross for the love and care that they provided.
