Alberta Floyd Thigpen

Alberta F. Thigpen Olanta Mrs. Alberta F. Thigpen age 72, died May 3, 2019 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock PM Monday May 6, 2019 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 - 5 PM prior to the service at Pine Dale Church. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Bethea Floyd and Lillie Mae Floyd, she was a member of Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. She loved life, beautiful flowers, reading her bible, designing landscapes, and cooking for others. She dearly loved her family and teaching young children. She was a very caring and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a brother, B. W. Floyd. Surviving are her husband; Chesley D. Thigpen, Sr., two daughters; Kimberly T. (John) Black of Olanta, Kristen T. (Jimmy) McElveen of Midway, TN., two sons; Chesley D. ( Andrea) Thigpen, Jr. LTC, U. S. Army, Fairfax Station, Va., and Timothy D. (Hope) Thigpen, SMSGT, U. S. Air Force, Las Vegas, NV, Sisters; Eula Mae McElveen and Nellirea Miles both of Olanta, Thaye Dell Pate of Turbeville, Brothers; David Floyd, Lavell Floyd, and Joe Floyd all of New Zion, Grandchildren; Ches, Elizabeth, and Deanna Thigpen, Allison and Shayne Thigpen, Phillip and Andrew Black.
