Barney Lee Brewer Morris, 87, of Florence, wife of the late H. Bethea Morris of Turbeville, passed away on April 30, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born on September 11, 1938, in Manning, South Carolina, Barney Lee was the daughter of the late Millard G. Brewer and Harriett Bagnal Brewer of Manning. She was a member of The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church in Turbeville, SC.
Barney Lee graduated from Manning High School in 1956. She was employed by the State Superintendent of Education Office in Manning for seven years, The Citizens Bank in Turbeville for 33 years, and then served as Probate Judge in Clarendon County for 12 years.
Barney Lee was a very special person who made a positive impact on the lives of so many people in Clarendon County and was a friend to people throughout the county and state.
She loved her family and friends deeply and cheered for the Gamecocks.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Morris of Florence, two very special friends, Jeanie Elmore of Florence and Debbie Smith of Scranton, a brother, William J. Brewer of Manning, a sister, Becky Bradham (John) of Mount Pleasant, and a sister, Martha Ellen Herlong (Don) of Sumter. She also leaves numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barney Lee was predeceased by a sister, Edith Brewer, and a sister-in-law, Irene Brewer, both of Manning.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Barwick, Cag Brunson, Michael Fleck, Roger Flowers, Jr., Robby Jordan, and Jim Keels.
The family would like to thank Barbara Watford for the many years of love and care she has shown her "Aunt Barn".
The service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church, 1642 Main Street, Turbeville, SC 29162. Visitation: 2:00 PM, Church Service: 3:00 PM. A graveside service will be held immediately following the church service at The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church and at other times at the residence in Florence, SC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Turbeville Southern Methodist Church in Turbeville, or Turbeville Southern Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
