OLANTA - It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnie Lou McGee, who departed this world on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 91. Bonnie was a beloved resident of Olanta, South Carolina, and was born in the warm embrace of a loving family in Lake City, South Carolina, on October 5, 1934.

Bonnie was a dedicated dietitian whose commitment to the health and well-being of others left a lasting impact on countless lives. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature were evident both in her professional endeavors and her personal life. Her passion was making things grow, be it flowers in the yard or vegetables in the garden. She had a green thumb

Bonnie was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her cherished children: Dan Mims, Connie M. Coker, and Eric M. Mims, all of Olanta. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Cody, Zach, Wes, April, Chad, Levi, and Tina; and her nine great-grandchildren: Heidi, Ethan, Karlee and Wesley, Danna, Daniel, Kaden, Logan, and Payton. Bonnie also welcomed two great-great-grandchildren, Little Wesley and Everleigh, into her life, enjoying the privilege of seeing the growth of her family through the generations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray Weaver and Christine Johnson Weaver; her first husband, Daniel B. Mims; her second husband, Leroy McGee; her beloved sister, Shirley Morgan; and her brother, James Weaver, whose memories she cherished deeply.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Floyd Funeral Home, located at 136 E. Main Street, Olanta, South Carolina. Following the visitation, a funeral service in Floyd's chapel honoring Bonnie's life will commence at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Terry Dennis officiating.
