Mr. Clarence Earl Green, 84, of New Zion, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Turbeville Southern Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Randy Shrum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Green was born in Turbeville on March 28, 1942, the son of Herbert Edward and Eleanor Langston Green.
Mr. Green proudly served his country for six years in the National Guard. A faithful member of Turbeville Southern Methodist Church, Earl was a graduate of East Clarendon High School, where he played on the winning State Championship baseball team in 1959 and 1960. He attended the University of South Carolina and became a lifelong restaurateur. He owned and operated The Compass Restaurant in Turbeville, SC, and Blue Point Crab House in Baltimore, Maryland.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew. Jason Green. Surviving are his three sons, Lance Green, Travis Green, both of New Zion, Devin Green and his wife, Lydia, of Baltimore, Maryland; four grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Green, Luke Green, Katherine "KitKat" Green, Penelope ”Penny” Green; a brother, Vere Green, and his wife, Mit.
