Eula Mae Thomas Scranton Eula Mae Matthews Thomas, age 88, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Lake City-Scranton Nursing facility after an illness. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. John United Methodist Church Cemetery on Green Road, Lake City. Born May 19, 1925 in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Eulon L. Matthews and Viola Carter Matthews. She was retired and sold Avon for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin J. Thomas; four sisters, Elvey Marie Matthews McAlister, Irene Matthews Jordan, Lindsey Matthews Rodgers, Sally Matthews Parrott; nine brothers, Jack Matthews, Hoyt Matthews, Willie Matthews, Eugene Matthews, T. C. Matthews, Eulon Matthews, Jr., Ross Matthews, Carter Matthews, T. B. Matthews, She is survived by a very special nephew, Eulon Parrott (Faye Hunt) of Scranton, and three nephews, Rev. Larry (Retha) McAlister, Johnny Reginald McAlister, Scott (Delisa) McAlister, and a dear family friend, Denise Ruthven, all of Lake City.
