NEW ZION - Eva McCrea McElveen, widow of Rev. Jack McElveen, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at MUSC Florence.
Born on April 6, 1940, in Clarendon County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Alexander McCrea and the late Bernice Alsbrook McCrea. She was a life long member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Kingstree and she attended McKenzie Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a 1958 graduate of Manning High School and attended High Point College. She was a member of the Turbeville 60 Plus and Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Seniors Groups. She spent her life serving others as a minister's wife and as caretaker for her elderly relatives.
She is survived by two sons, William Jack McElveen, Jr. (Karen) of Florence, SC and Loyd Eugene McElveen of Indianapolis, IN; one granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth McElveen of Simpsonville, SC; and one sister, Barbara McCrea Jaudon of Greenville, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons, Samuel (Sammy) Alexander McElveen and Casey Shawn McElveen.
A visitation will be held from 1 - 2:30pm at Floyd Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church sanctuary, 1701 New Zion Road, Lake City, SC.
Funeral services will be held 2:30pm on Saturday, May 3, 22025, at Floyd's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Arthur McElveen, Rev. Doug Filyaw, Rev. Keith Britt officiating. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Brown, Marion Floyd, Hal Jaudon, Donald McElveen, Jay McElveen, and Bill Wallace.
