Fred Thomas Purvis, Jr.

Lake City Mr. "Tommy" Purvis, age 58, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Lake City Community Hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held 11am, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Great Commission Ministries with burial in McClam Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Fred Thomas Purvis, Sr. and Barbara Ann Floyd Purvis. He was a member of Great Commission Ministries, and served as a board member for the church. Preceded in death besides his parents, are a sister, Denise Purvis. He is survived by three sisters, Cathy P. Floyd (Bill) and Teresa Purvis both of Lake City, and Gwen Powell (Mike) of Kingstree.
