It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of HL Anderson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, surrounded by his loved ones.. Born on September 10, 1941, in Cades, South Carolina, HL lived a life marked by love, dedication, and deep devotion to his family.
H L was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who was known for his kind heart, unwavering work ethic, and devotion to family. He dedicated his career to ensuring excellence as a Quality Control Officer with Santee Print and was respected by colleagues and friends alike. He enjoyed playing soft ball, golf and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his three devoted daughters: Pamala A. Player and her husband Johnny of Turbeville, Terrie A. Cooke and her husband, Randy, of Cottageville, and Melinda Deberry and her husband Steve of Summerville. H L further leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Stephanie DeBerry Doss and her husband, Ben of Summerville, Brooks Staves and his wife, Megan of Turbeville, and Haley C. Fisher and her husband, Phillip of Cottageville. His legacy is further celebrated by two great-grandchildren, Caleb Doss and Aiden Fisher. H L is also survived two dear sisters, Emma Melton of Barrineau and Maiden Beard of Kingstree.
H L was preceded in death by his cherished parents, David Lamb Anderson and Gladys Floyd Anderson; his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Nell Frye Anderson; his son, Scotty Anderson; and a granddaughter, Kelsey Player; three brothers and one sister.
The family invites relatives and friends to join in a celebration of HL's life at 11am, Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Chad Culick officiating. The family will receive guest following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home, 1548 River Bend Lane, Turbeville, SC 29162.
Pallbearers for the service include Johnny Player, Steve DeBerry, Randy Cooke, Ben Doss, Brooks Staves, Phillip Fisher, Aiden Fisher, and Caleb Doss.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
