Jacob Milton Broad Sr

MANNING - Jacob Milton Broad Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 93. Jacob was born on Tuesday, October 13, 1931, in Florence County, South Carolina, to the late Samuel Clinton Broad and Daisy McCutcheon Broad.

Jacob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps before dedicating his professional life as a skilled welder with Evans Trailer Manufacturing. He was known for his hardworking spirit, generosity, and unwavering commitment to family and community.

Jacob was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his son, Jacob Milton Broad Jr.; his daughter, Kathy Broad Wilson; his brothers, Samuel Broad, Kelly Broad, and Eugene Broad; and his sister, Eliese Ackerman.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his son-in-law, Dean Wilson of Florence; granddaughter, Erica Hutchinson and her husband Chad of Florence; grandson, Bryan Wilson and his wife Brittany of Florence; and three treasured great-grandchildren, Mack Hutchinson, Kingsley Wilson, and Colton Wilson. His family also includes his daughter-in-law, Barbara Broad of Bennettsville; nieces, Elizabeth Driggers, Patricia Hubbard, and Linda Ruth Broad, all of Scranton. Jacob's legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire all who knew him.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Floyd Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Jacob's life will be held immediately after, commencing at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home.

Pallbearers honoring Jacob's life and service will include Toby Ackerman, Brad Ackerman, Jimmy Ackerman, Bobby Driggers, Greg Bingham, and Matthew Bingham.
