It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jacqueline "Jackie" Christmas McElveen, who departed this life on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on Friday, August 26th, 1938, in Williamsburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Sydney W. Christmas and the late Zelma Thigpen Christmas, Jacqueline was a cherished resident of New Zion, SC.
Jacqueline was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many, who dedicated her life to those she loved. Her warmth and generosity touched countless hearts throughout her life. Professionally, she worked diligently as a cutter in the textile industry, where her attention to detail and dedication were apparent in all that she did.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving daughter, Vicki Prosser of Florence; her dear sister, Bobbie Jean Hutto (Ray) of Summerton; and her devoted brother, Riley Lewis Christmas (Jennie) of Orangeburg. She was also blessed with an adopted second daughter, Stacy Shuler (Maxie) of New Zion. Additionally, she was like a grandmother to two young men, Dawson Cantey and Mason Cantey. She will also be missed by her three stepchildren, Janet Floyd (Wayne), David McElveen, and Julie Studt (Michael), as well as her six step-great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Edward Ray Prosser; her second husband, Everette McElveen; her son, Darren Richard Prosser; and her brothers, Durant Christmas and Jimmy Christmas.
Mrs. Jackie's family would like to invite friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of her life at McKenzie Tabernacle Church in New Zion, SC.
