It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Lynn McClam, who peacefully departed this world on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 55. Janet was born on Wednesday, April 22, 1970, in Lake City, South Carolina, and later resided in Sumter, South Carolina, where she created a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends.
Janet was a beloved daughter, mother, niece, and friend. She is survived by her father, Ernest Edward DuBose; her daughter, Ashley McClam of Florence; her loving aunt, Claudia Carter of Florida; and her caring uncle, Willie DuBose of Sumter. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann Feagin DuBose, and her husband, Johnny McClam, both of whom she loved dearly.
Though Janet faced challenges that led her to become disabled, she found joy and connection in simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of wrestling and cherished moments spent watching matches on TV. Dancing brought her immense happiness whenever she was able to do so, with rhythm and music always sparking a special light within her. She was a member of New Town Free Will Baptist Church.
Janet’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Floyd Funeral Home, located at 138 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC, for their compassionate care and assistance during this difficult time. Arrangements remain private, and no pub
