A Celebration of Life
Mrs. Jimmie Lee Smith Gibbons, 81, beloved wife of Don Gibbons for 27 years, entered into rest on May 21. 2026.
She is preceded by her mother, Julia Anne Smith Collins and father, Raymond R. Smith, daughter, Annette Bostic Ward and son, Stephen Bostic.
She is survived by her husband Don Gibbons and her siblings, Jeanette Everett (Ted), Maxie Smith (Anne), Brenda Kayse (Chuck), Linda Schiebler (Rawl), Mary Frye, JoAnn Hicks (Ron), grandchildren; Heather Ward Dominey (Chris), Brittany Ward DeLuccie (Joe), Travis Ward (Lauren) and five great grandchildren; Wyatt, Gracie, Josey Dominey, Alessandra and Amelia DeLuccie, plus many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and stayed in touch with them remembering birthdays and anniversaries.
Jimmie was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, South Carolina and worked in clerical, accounting and secretarial roles. She was a University of South Carolina Gamecock fan and enjoyed going to football games and tailgating. She loved shopping, decorating, cooking, sewing and spoiling her fur babies.
Jimmie never met a stranger and had a way of making people smile. Her laughter was contagious. She loved the beach, the mountains, and boating on the lake. She and Don shared many happy times at Lake Hartwell and Lake Murray with family and friends. She will be deeply missed and treasured by everyone whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM at New Zion Methodist Church , New Zion, S.C. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
Arrangements are made by Floyd Funeral Home of 136 East Main Street, Olanta, S.C. 29114.
