It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "Blaine" Brown, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend. Blaine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at the age of 32.
Blaine was born on Saturday, August 22nd, 1992, in Florence, South Carolina. He spent his early years in the close-knit community of Effingham, SC, where he developed lifelong friendships and connections. Blaine was the cherished son of the late Joseph "Joey" Mendel Brown, Jr. and Debra Kay Roberson Brown. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Mendel Brown, Sr and his maternal grandparents, Allen & Juanita Roberson.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Blaine served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to service was evident in every facet of his life. Following his time in the military, Blaine continued to contribute to his community and make a lasting impact on those around him.
Blaine is survived by his loving sister, Courtney Brown of Columbia, who admired and adored him immensely. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Joan Brown of Timmonsville, who was a constant source of warmth and wisdom in his life. His beloved aunts, Kaye Brown of Florence and Frankie (Richard) Anderson of Manning; and cousins Melissa and Ashley, will deeply miss his lively spirit and kind nature. Blaine also is survived by his dog, Rick Flair.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Floyd Funeral Home, located at 138 E. Main Street, Olanta, SC. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate Blaine's life.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home. Reverend Myers Graham and Rev. David Carlson will officiate the ceremony, offering words of comfort and remembrance. Burial will follow in the Olanta Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, 4071 Creek Road, Timmonsville, SC 29171 in honor of Blaine's life and values.
