Lake City – Mamie Louise Locklair Wilkes, 86, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026.
A native of Florence County was born on February 11, 1940, the daughter of the late Pearley Edward Locklair and Lunnie Cook Locklair. She was a talented lifelong seamstress who worked for Wentworth Manufacturing for 50 years.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Jessie Wilkes, sisters, Mary Wilkes Matthews, Vivian Eades, brothers, Pearlie Locklair, and Wylie Locklair.
She is survived by her brothers, William Locklair of Alcolu, Ray Locklair (Janice) of Scranton; her sister, Jane Jackson of Union; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Katenell Barrett (Dex) of Nesmith, special nephew, Dale Wilkes of Scranton, Chase Jacob of Hartsville; special friends, Bobbie Daniels of Scranton, and special families, Nita and James Floyd and the Lewis and Purvis families of Florence.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Lake City Memorial Park with Reverend Hal Whitlock officiating.
The family will receive friends at Mr. William Locklair's home at 10860 Plowden Mill Road, Alcolu, SC 29001.
