Nellie Mae Powers, age 73, passed away July 2, 2014 at Clarendon Memorial Hospital after an illness. A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Myrick Cleveland Powers and Martha Tanner Powers. She is preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Surviving are a brother, Rev. Jesse Powers of Charleston and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 2555 Suite B, Lin-Do Ct, Sumter, S.C. 29150 or Clarendon County Disabilities, P.O. Box 40, Manning, S.C. 29102.
