Peggy Santos Gibson, 83, of Lexington, passed away on April 28, 2026, at Agape Hospice House in Lexington.
Born on June 8, 1942, in Olanta, South Carolina, Peggy was the daughter of the late Cleo and Merlene Suggs Pierce. She was a proud graduate of Olanta schools and carried her small-town roots with her throughout her life.
Peggy was a loving and devoted mother whose family meant everything to her. She was known for her vibrant personality—full of life, vivacious, and a little “ornery”. She had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and a spirit that made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
She spent her career in timeshare sales with Wyndham Worldwide, where she eventually retired. In her free time, Peggy enjoyed shopping (and returning items just as much), traveling, and cheering on her beloved Carolina Gamecocks.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, John Gibson, and her daughter, Penny Joiner.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Mangual (Michael); her grandchildren, Jennifer Fitz (Chris),Stephanie Miller (Jerad); five great-grandchildren; and her special friend of over 30 years, Marlene Turner, who was truly her partner in crime.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery.
