Sammie Martin Driggers
September 12, 1942- April 22, 2026
Turbeville - Sammie Martin Driggers, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday,
April 22, 2026, at his home.
Born September 12, 1942, in Clarendon County, he was the son of the late William H. Driggers
and the late Betty Coker Driggers. He was a member of Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church
and was a proud member of the Nauvard Baker Sunday School Class. These men held a
special place in his heart. He had a strong work ethic his entire life. He retired from Tomlinson
and McWhite and missed all those he worked with after he retired. Mr. Sammie loved in big
ways, always doing for others. After retirement, he found pleasure in cutting grass for family
and others in the community. He loved his family, his church, working, and the Lord.
He is survived by two sons, Mark (Kim) Driggers of Turbeville and Blake (Pam) Driggers of
Manning; five grandchildren, Mary Kathryn (Brett) Inman, Maggie (Andrew) Donaldson, Kirby
Driggers, Camille (Alex) Crawford, and Hanna Driggers; seven great-grandchildren, Keaton
Inman, Cade Inman, Avonleigh Inman, James Donaldson, Ryan Donaldson, Jaxon Crawford,
and Linleigh Crawford, two sisters-in-law, Brenda Driggers and Rosa Lee Driggers, and two
brothers-in-law, Archie Welch and Walter Knotts; many, many nieces and nephews that he loved
dearly; and one special niece who was like a sister, Sybil Driggers Coker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Daisy McKenzie
Driggers, one son, Bryan Martin Driggers; brothers, Lindbergh Driggers, Ellie Driggers, Deleon
Driggers, Harry Lane Driggers, Bobby Driggers, Eugene Driggers and Douglas Driggers; and
sisters, Gaynell Matthews, Mildred Dubose, lla Mae Welch, Thelma Knotts, Anna M. Osborne,
Rebecca Simeral, and Elise Webb.
A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Horse Branch Free Will
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests following the service at the cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to The Neil & Mandi Morgan Missions Fund in care of
Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church, 1097 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, South Carolina,
29162.
