Sheri Floyd Wilson

CADES – Sheri Floyd Wilson, 49, transferred to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, after a battle with health issues at MUSC in Florence, SC. She was born June 22, 1973, in Lake City Community Hospital. A daughter of Clarice Bell Floyd and the late Myers Hayward Floyd. She was employed at Solmax in Kingstree, SC and was a graduate of Williamsburg Technical College. She attended Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church. Sheri enjoyed the simple things in life, like cooking big meals for her family members, making 12-layer chocolate cakes and rooting for the South Carolina Gamecocks football team on fall Saturday nights. Sheri is survived by her mother; a brother, William Brett Floyd of Cades; a sister, Shannon Floyd Lee of Lake City; a niece and nephew whom she affectionally referred to as her own, Keri Lee (Cootbug as Sheri affectionally nicknamed her) and a nephew, Blake Lee; and her boyfriend, Buddy Martin. She was preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, John Burlon and Elizabeth Morris Bell; and her paternal grandparents, Willie Moscoe and Annie Cox Floyd. A funeral service will be held 3pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Kingstree First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wayland Owens officiating, Burial will follow in the Old Piney Grove Church Cemetery, Lake City. Pallbearers will be Clay Baird, Ken Baird, John Floyd, Adam Barrineau, Milton Thigpen, David Beard, Levon Welch, and Landon Floyd A visitation will be held from 2 – 3pm on Sunday at the church prior to the service.
