Terry Lawrence McElveen, age 75, of Lincoln University, Pa, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, April 26,2026.
Born in Biloxi, MS on June 22, 1950, she was the daughter of Mr. Leo P. Lawrence and Mrs. Betty Cerenich (Bills).
Terry was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School and Jefferson Davis Community College. Through-out her professional career, she worked as a paralegal and secretary.
Growing up, Terry loved everything about the Gulf Coast, especially crabbing in the waters off the piers. She also took great pleasure in cooking, particularly true Cajun dishes and baking for family and friends. She was an avid reader who loved to read a good book with a big cup of coffee. Above all, Terry was extremely dedicated to her family and cherished each and every one of them, especially her grandchildren who she loved to spoil by taking them for sweet treats and shopping.
Terry is survived by her husband of 46 years, William A McElveen; daughters Mary Elizabeth (Lyzabeth) Tierce-Miller (Joseph Miller) of Newark, DE and Cynthia Leigh McElveen (Ronald Trice) of Gainesville, VA; siblings Jeffrey Lawrence, David Lawrence, and Becky Lawrence all of Biloxi, MS; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside service honoring Terry will be conducted by Father Ronnie Lorcha of St. Jude Catholic Church of Sumter, SC. The service will begin at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at, Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Turbeville, South Carolina,1097 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, South Carolina, 29162.
